David has more than 20 years of website development experience, building content management and email marketing applications in PHP with extensive WordPress experience. More recently David has focused on micro-services automation and web accessibility auditing.
David began building websites before the invention of graphical browsers, creating a text-based personal website on university servers in 1994. In 1999, David joined a political consulting company providing websites to major political figures and organizations. Moving to Hawaii in 2002, David went back into private practice before joining StarrTech Interactive, the state’s largest web development team. At StarrTech, he was the lead developer on projects for the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, KGMB and KHON, the Honolulu Advertiser and Hilton Hawaiian Village. David left StarrTech in 2007 to work as a Legislative Aide for Hawaii House Majority Leader Kirk Caldwell. In 2008, he formed Tanuki Interactive, quickly gaining traction with the hospitality industry. In 2018 Tanuki Interactive began a partnership with PathForward Communications, collaborating on government and non-profit organization web design, strategy and development.
